Where do MTNA members go during the summer for renewal, refreshment and recharging? If you live in Colorado, Iowa or Minnesota, the first answer might well be "to the annual state conference." Can you think of a better place for networking with peers, listening to inspiring speakers, learning about creative teaching ideas and hearing first-rate performances by students as well as concert artists?

The Colorado State MTA Conference was held at the University of Colorado, Boulder June 2-4. Highlighting the conference was guest artist Barbara Lister-Sink, who presented a workshop, conducted a master class and performed in a recital. The annual Professional Reading Enrichment (PREP) seminar dealt with the subject of changing parenting styles and their effects on teaching.
