Aug. 5--Third-generation (3G) technology and multimedia applications for the next generation of mobile phones and networks are the highlights of the showcase presented by major telecommunications firms participating in the Bangkok International ICT Expo 2005, running until Sunday.
The hottest 3G mobile-phone technology used in video streaming or downloading large files is widely expected to be available on a trial basis in Bangkok and major cities next year by major mobile operators after having been implemented for years.
