Aug. 5--SINGAPORE -- Thai Yamaha Motor Co, shrugging off a perception that the Thai motorcycle market is already saturated, has announced plans to invest 1.5 billion baht to triple motorcycle production to 600,000 bikes a year by 2007.
Praphan Phornthanavarsit, chief operating officer of Thai Yamaha Motor Co, said the expansion was necessary as demand for Yamaha motorcycles had surpassed production for 18 consecutive months.
