Aug. 5--The Finance Ministry will review projections for the current account deficit and state megaproject investment plans with an aim to ensure economic stability, new minister Thanong Bidaya said yesterday.
The ministry had previously set a current account deficit target of no more than 2 percent of gross domestic product over the next several years.
But critics say that the target is likely to be broken given the soaring cost of oil and high import content from the government's infrastructure megaprojects, budgeted at 1.7 trillion baht over the next five years.
