Veteran politician Sanan Kachornprasart says he has temporarily washed his hands of politics to concentrate on the recreation business with a new investment in a golf driving range.

This is the second time Maj Gen Sanan, currently the leader of the Mahachon Party, has made his exit from politics, but the first that is voluntary.

His first exit lasted five years after the Constitutional Court found him guilty in 2000 of making a false asset declaration, and banned him from politics.
