Aug. 4--Mobile handset giant Nokia believes the next big thing is the phone equipped to download music, and is positioning itself in the fastest growing Asia-Pacific market to take advantage.
In the near future, wireless music downloads are going to be as common and successful as the camera-equipped mobile phones, said Tyler McGee, vice-president for customer and market operations in Southeast Asia and Asia Pacific of the Finnish firm.
He said Nokia was giving priority to the multimedia segment, which has grown 89 percent for Nokia during the first half of the year, faster than any other group.
