Aug. 4--A preliminary free trade agreement (FTA) reached by Thailand and Japan will benefit Thai auto parts makers and consumers, according to Hiroshi Toda, the president of Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co.
"FTA is a true wave in the world, taking place everywhere," he said. "It is a global trend that Honda cannot avoid joining.
"Whatever benefits the consumers by means of FTA, Honda will not hesitate to satisfy their needs," he added in response to a question of whether Honda has a plan to import luxury cars from Japan to sell in Thailand.
