Aug. 4--The Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) is not ready to list on the Stock Exchange of Thailand, according to governor Chalit Ruengvise.
The government had previously announced that MEA is to be corporatised and transformed into a public company on Nov 1, with a public share offering made by the end of the year.
Mr Chalit said that the authority's current profit margin of only 5-6 percent from power sales, its main source of income, was not high enough to attract investors in an initial public offering.
