Aug. 4--Aromatics (Thailand) (ATC) said it would take four days to repair its plant in Rayong and resume normal operations after a hydrogen leak at the pipe flange connection of the reformer unit burst into flames Tuesday night.
ATC president Permsak Shevawattananon informed the Stock Exchange of Thailand yesterday there were no casualties in the incident, but repairs would take another three days.
According to the company statement, the leak and fire were brought under control within five minutes. ATC said there was no effect on the environment at the plant, or around the Map Ta Phut area. A preliminary assessment found only minor damage.
