Aug. 3--Media executives say a call by supporters of former Bangkok governor Maj Gen Chamlong Srimuang for a ban on all alcoholic beverage advertising would hurt the industry, do little to prevent alcohol abuse or consumption and is, in a word, "ridiculous".
