Singapore Telecommunications Ltd says its number of mobile subscribers in the region has reached 71.14 million, the largest mobile customer base in Asia outside of China.

Singtel said this represents an increase of 6.3 million customers in Asia from the previous quarter, the largest quarterly increase ever registered.
