Okidata, a price leader in the laser printer arena, last week introduced two PostScript Level 2 printers.

Now shipping, the OL830 and OL850 LED printers perform at 8 pages per minute and are priced at $1,799 and $1,999, respectively. Each printer features the company's Oki Smoothing Technology, which offers a perceived resolution of 300 by 1,200 dots per inch.

The OL850 includes 65 fonts, AppleTalk, parallel and serial interfaces, and Adobe Type Manager, officials said.

Both emulate Hewlett-Packard Co.'s Printer Command Language and offer 200-sheet paper trays and 2 megabytes of RAM.
