A plan to halve troop levels in Northern Ireland is about to be unveiled by the Government in response to last week's IRA statement.
The demilitarisation document will give details of the security reductions - including more Army post demolitions - unlocked by the IRA's pledge to become "exclusively peaceful" and "purely political".
Under the plan:
The number of soldiers in Northern Ireland will fall permanently to 5,000;
Those troops will only be based in 14 military posts;
