BBL to redeem hybrid securities: Payoff 'gives investors new chance'.

Aug. 2--Bangkok Bank yesterday announced it would completely redeem its 17.5 billion baht in outstanding hybrid securities in October.
The bank notified the Stock Exchange of Thailand yesterday that directors agreed to complete the redemption by Oct 1, the next interest-payment date for subordinated debentures issued under the programme.
The redemption is subject to regulatory approval, the bank said.
Bangkok Bank raised 46 billion baht in capital through its Caps (Capital Augmented Preferred Securities) programme in April 1999, comprised of 34.5 billion baht worth of preferred shares and group-one subordinated ...
