Although the Florida West Coast Symphony isn't involved with the Perlman Music Program any more, its former employees are.

Elizabeth Power, a former director of the symphony's education program, has been hired by the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall as project coordinator of the program.

Trevor Cramer, the symphony's former general manager, had been serving as interim coordinator, and will continue to help.

The Van Wezel stepped in to co-sponsor the two-week residency in December after the symphony ended its one-year partnership with the program.

About 35 gifted music students from around the world will study …
