Aug. 1--Siam Shoreside Service Ltd (SSS), a fully owned subsidiary of the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group, a giant provider of trucking fleet services and logistics operations, plans to cut the average age of its trucking fleet to one year from three years to strengthen operations in a very competitive market.

Michel Deleuran, managing director of Maersk Bangkok Branch, said the programme should be completed by the end of the year.

The new trucks imported from Europe cost an average of three million baht each, with additional expenditures for global positioning systems (GPS) and temperature-controlled containers.
