Aug. 1--Securities regulators say new stock market listings are likely to fall well short of the 100 companies initially targeted.
Chalee Chanatanayingyong, the senior assistant secretary-general for the Securities and Exchange Commission, noted that only 17 companies had been approved for listing since January.
Many firms approved for listing are expected to delay their market entry to as far as 2006 due to poor market sentiment.
