Steven Bochco, the co-creator of "Over There," the new FX series about the war in Iraq, which begins on July 27th, has taken pains in interviews to declare that the show has nothing to do with politics. This is the first television series set in a war that is actually going on, and, in a promotional video, Bochco says, "My big concern initially was that I didn't want to do a show that, almost by definition, requires a political point of view." It isn't that he doesn't have opinions about the war, he says, but using them in his work makes him uncomfortable.
