At a time when health care spending continues to climb, medical and dental services firms have a strong tail wind propelling them.
National health care expenditures have been growing steadily -- from $1.3 trillion a year in 2000 to a projected $1.92 trillion in 2005, according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
That number is expected to rise 7.5% to $2.06 trillion next year and another 7.5% to $2.2 trillion in 2007.
A key reason for the increase: The U.S. population is aging and living longer. The older we get, the more health care services we need.
