ITT beats the Street, ups outlook
The industrial and defense giant's Q2 profit rose 22% to $1.43 a share, 11 cents over views. ITT's sales rose a better-than-forecast 20% to $1.98 bil. Defense electronics and services revenue soared 47% to $779.5 mil on higher sales and the acquisition of Kodak's Remote Sensing unit. ITT raised its '05 goal to $5.30-$5.40 from $5.10-$5.25. Shares jumped 5% to 106.40, a new high.

Boeing mulls lost Chinese orders
A group of Chinese airlines ordered 50 of Boeing's 787 Dreamliners, 10 jets shy of an earlier announcement.
