BRAZILIAN coastal operator Alianca Navegacao e Logistica, has revamped its cabotage service axing the call to Vila do Conde, at the northern extremity of its Sling Two operation and replacing it with Sao Francisco do Sul, pushing the sling further south than its previous Santos turnaround point.
Managers at Brazilian flagged Alianca a wholly owned subsidiary of German carrier Hamburg S'd say they have added Sao Francisco do Sul to their service, owing to a boom in cargo from the state of Santa Catarina, 'especially reefer cargo'.
Alianca, which many believe will one day invest in a terminal in the Bay of Sao Francisco do Sul at Itapoa with the developer, the Batistella Group, will call weekly at Sao Francisco do Sul from where it will feeder most of the reefer cargo much of it frozen chicken to Santos for transhipment to north European and North ...
