GLOBE Telecom Inc. is worried that its second semester revenue may be weaker due to a shrinking consumer wallet as well as continuing pressure from competition, according to its top official.
Globe, the country's second largest telecom company, had seen its revenue growth slide since the latter part of 2004. The trend continued in the first quarter when revenue grew by only 5 percent.
Globe president Gerardo Ablaza refused to say anything about the second quarter performance as the listed company was prohibited by the stock exchange to discuss the numbers it would announce this week.
