THE FAR Eastern U Tamaraws simply kept their remarkable season going.
Clicking on all cylinders all the way, the Tamaraws subdued the defending champion La Salle Archers, 69-62, yesterday for their sixth straight win in the UAAP basketball tournament at the Araneta Coliseum.
League star Arwind Santos delivered another double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds on top of four blocks to lead a dominant performance by the Tamaraws' first five.
"It was our toughest game, our closest game," said Tamaraws coach Bert Flores. "We limited (Joseph) Yeo and (JV) Casio. Our outside shooting also improved."
The Archers, who blasted the Tamaraws in three games in the Finals last season, wound up with a 3-3 record as Yeo and Casio were limited to a combined 15 points.
