IT WAS the turn of government chief negotiator Nieves Confessor to warn officials of the communist National Democratic Front that they "stand to lose so much," including their immunity guarantees, following their decision to pull out from the peace talks.But Bayan Muna party-list Rep. Satur Ocampo said Malacaang should first make it clear whether it received a formal letter of withdrawal from the NDF because as far as he knows, the peace talks had been postponed and that Jalandoni was merely issuing a "political statement."
Last July 21, Jalandoni told the Inquirer that the Utretcht-based NDF panel saw no point in resuming peace talks with the Arroyo administration because "it was not going to last very long."
Jalandoni said it would rather wait for a new government to emerge.
