WHEN Maria Rosario Malatag saw her eight-year-old son get hit by a bus, she ran to him without thought of her own safety.
She thus never saw the oncoming truck that delivered to her the same fate that had just befallen her little boy.
Police said both the 36-year-old Malatag and her child died in the twin tragedy that happened seconds of each other along E. Rodriguez Sr. Boulevard in Quezon City Saturday night.
A Cubao-bound bus hit young Argel, as he was crossing the road at 7:10 p.m.
Seeing her boy on the pavement, the mother sprang forward into the path of an Isuzu Elf truck.
Argel never made it to St. Luke's Hospital.
