HAS FAUSTINO Dy Jr. become too hot to handle?
The question arose yesterday after Archbishop Oscar Cruz said he was no longer keen on taking the former Isabela governor as a witness to testify against President Macapagal- Arroyo.
Dy has been mentioned by various Inquirer informants as being present at a meeting attended by Ms Arroyo and several regional directors of the Commission on Elections during which the poll officials were allegedly paid to ensure her victory in the May 2004 presidential election.
"If I see that he's too hot to handle, then I'll stay away," Cruz told the Inquirer.
Still, the Catholic Church's foremost crusader against "jueteng" operations said he was keeping his options "open."
