The Power Finance Corporation (PFC), in its report on the operational and financial performance of the power sector of States in 2003-2004, has pointed out that the total generation increased by 3.8 percent to 2,88,189 million units in 2003-2004. The share of hydropower increased by to 17.4 percent from 16.3 percent during the year. The increase in generation was mainly from the northern and eastern regions. The average plant load factor was at 68 percent.
