On May 31, Luweero district was taken down memory lane as the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) launched their 2006 bid for State House in the district.

The 1981-86 bush war that ushered President Yoweri Museveni to power on 26 January 1986 was launched and fought here. But more people are growing disenchanted with the Movement's inconsistencies and failure to honour its promises.

Mzee Satia Nakiganda, 63 of Kakabala village in Butuntumula Sub-county has already vowed to vote against the shift to political party politics.

"Parties caused our suffering; I lost my last son in the bushes; to hell with them," she says.
