The seasonally adjusted number of jobseekers fell 4,200 to 237,200 in May 2005, a 1.8% drop, Israel National Employment Service (INES) director general Esther Dominicini reported today.

There were 21,100 new jobseekers in May, 12,200 of whom were fired. 3,361 new jobseekers asked for income supplements.

18,600 jobseekers already have jobs, but applied to the INES for various reasons. Most were either part-time workers or looking for better jobs.
