Nissan board members earn cool 260 million yen salaries.

Nissan Motor Co. board members earn an average of about 260 million yen in annual salary, well above top executives at other major Japanese automakers, according to an announement at Nissan's shareholder meeting.

The average remuneration for Toyota board members is about 35 million yen.

Nissan President Carlos Ghosn said the salaries are average by global standards. "Even though the level is high by Japanese standards, it's ordinary by global standards," he told the meeting held Tuesday.
