Vietnam's Consumer Price Index (CPI) is estimated to increase 0.4% on-month in June, bringing the country's inflation in the first half of this year to 5.2%, according to the government's General Statistics Office (GSO).

The CPI increase in June is higher than the previous prediction announced by the Trade Ministry earlier this month, which put the rate at 0.2-0.3%, due to the increasing consumer demand fueled by hot weather this summer.

The prices of eight of the ten groups of products surveyed in calculating the CPI are set to post increases ranging from 0.1-0.7% compared to last month. Among them, education fees saw the …
