Fans and friends were shocked and saddened to hear of the recent death of superstar balladeer Luther Vandross.

Vandross, 54, died at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Edison, NJ. The cause of death at JET press time had not yet been released.

Known for such romantic hits as Here and Now, A House Is Not A Home, Superstar, Any Love and Your Secret Love, the Grammy Award-winning singer has sold more than 20 million albums in the U.S.

Over the course of his career, Vandross released a string of platinum albums and established himself as one of the leading romantic singers of his generation.

He suffered a life-threatening stroke on April 16, …
