Section: General News - The Purple Line train route for Bangkok should be built according to the original plan, the Mass Rapid Transit Authority

says, despite changes proposed by a traffic agency, The Nation reports.

MRTA governor Prapat Chongsanguan said after meeting with the Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning Office that the agency suggested parts of the route should run underground to avoid making traffic worse.

He said the office approved the design at a meeting on February 23 chaired by Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.
