Minister of Industry, Trade, and Labor Ehud Olmert has agreed on the beginning of rough diamond imports with Alexander Nichiporuk, president of Russian state diamond company Alrosa. Olmert said, "The parties expressed interest in removing restrictions on the supply of rough diamonds to Israel, and Nichiporuk said that he wanted more Israeli companies to buy rough diamonds in Israel." Olmert is currently visiting Russia.
