Vietnam Prime Minister Phan Van Khai started his fifth day in his working trip in the US by ritually ringing the opening bell for 20 seconds at the New York Stock Exchange yesterday.

The symbol aims to announce the increasing economic growth in Vietnam and the improving relation between the two nations, said NYSE chief executive officer John Thain, adding that the NYSE has witnessed the rapid economic gains of Vietnam and is awaiting the day that Vietnam firms will be listed there.
