(ED) ANZ job ads in newspapers and internet both fall in June.

Sydney - Monday - July 4: (RWE) - The ANZ job advertisements survey found the number of advertisements in major metropolitan newspapers fell by 1.9 per cent in June to an average of 20,555 per week.

Combining both metropolitan newspapers and on the internet the figure fell by 2.4 per cent in June.

The survey pointed out that the downturn was not as severe as in May when ANZ reported a 7.3 per cent slide. It is now the lowest level of newspaper job advertisements since May 2003.

Newspaper advertisements are now 6.1 per cent lower than in June 2004.
