Muscat The Blue City - an Al Sawadi Development project - is poised to take off in Oman with a new group of investors and developers. Formed eight months ago, the company, which will be in charge of this massive tourism development opportunity, has now been named the Al Sawadi Investment and Tourism Company (ASIT). Besides the Omani company Cyclone, the consortium now includes Ahmed Abubaker Janahi Holdings (AAJ Holdings), an investor/developer from Bahrain, and Oasis Middle East Holding, an investment company. According to a spokesman for the ASIT, the company and its development consultants have worked intensively over the last eight months to prepare a whole new concept that has given the project an additional charm. "ASIT is proud to announce that the new scheme for the large 35 sq km site is much more than just a resort project. Named the Blue City, the project would involve the development of an entire city.
