NEWLY elected MP Shailesh Vara has vowed to fight for a change in the law on breast cancer screening for women.

At the moment, only women between the ages of 50 and 70 are automatically checked by hospitals throughout the UK, but Mr Vara wants to widen this age range using his Private Members' Bill.

He was to present his Bill at Parliament after the Prime Minister's Question Time today, although it could be a year before the issue is discussed.

Mr Vara is one of only 22 MPs who were randomly selected to bring an issue forward to the House of Commons, just weeks after he was elected to represent North …
