The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) is holding its 71st annual conference in the Norwegian capital city at the Radisson Plaza. This major four-day event covers every aspect of library and information provision. Subjects to be covered include preservation, document delivery, government information, serials, university libraries, cataloguing and knowledge management.

6th International Conference on Performance Measurement
22-25 August 2005, Durham
Northern redbrick university town of Durham in Northumberland is home to the 6th conference on performance measurement. Focussing on the impact of libraries, speakers include Andrew Booth of the University of Sheffield, who will discuss evidence-based healthcare, while training and museums will also be discussed by representatives from Germany and the US.
