Averse from the Christmas message of King George VI, 1939, hanging in the Anne of Green Gables Museum at Silver Bush was hand embroidered by George's mother, Ruth Campbell. This verse still carries the same great message of courage and faith as it did then and so we reprint it here.

 
   I said to a man 
   who stood 
   at the Gate of the Year, 
   --'Give me a Light--that 
   I may tread safely 
   into the unknown' 
   And he replied,--'Go 
   out into the darkness 
   and put your hand 
   into--The Hand of God. 
   That shall be to you, 
   Better than light and safer …
