Gross stresses importance of social reforms in Vienna.

VIENNA, June 24 (CTK) - Social Democrat (CSSD) chairman Stanislav Gross appealed to the modernisation of social state at a meeting of the European Union Social Democrat and Socialist Parties in Vienna today.

He said that the values on which the EU was established appeared distance to certain people.

"Many people are losing certainty, they are afraid of the future and they believe that this was caused by the process of European integration," Gross said.

He said that it was the task for the Social Democrats to clearly answer the people's question of whether European integration and the EU brings risk or certainties. …
