Tony O'Reilly's Independent News & Media said today it was expecting a "high single-digit" increase in advertising revenues in the first half of the year.

In a trading update to the City, INM - owner of the Independent, Independent on Sunday and the Belfast Telegraph - said forward bookings remained positive in all of its markets across the world.

The Dublin-based group, which runs newspapers in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, also said it was expecting a "low single-digit" increase in circulation revenues.
