RESTAURANT chain PizzaExpress could be taken back to the stock market by Carphone Warehouse co-founder David Ross.

PizzaExpress owner TDR Capital is hunting for a chairman to head up Altia, the pizza chain's holding company, ahead of a possible flotation.

It is believed to be close to lining up Ross for the role after several weeks of discussions.

He is the second largest shareholder in Carphone Warehouse with a stake worth GBP351 million.
