CHARLES KENNEDY was battling to shore up his LibDem support last night after fresh rumours about his health.
The party leader faced unrest among his own MPs after a series of lacklustre performances in the Commons.
MPs fear the hard-working Mr Kennedy may be feeling the effects of a gruelling election campaign combined with becoming a dad.
But his office said yesterday: "He's absolutely fine."
Mr Kennedy looked pale at Prime Minister's Questions in the House yesterday, but was perkier than in recent weeks as he questioned Premier Tony Blair about identity cards.
