Sir, - Your editorial "Choice of techniques" (12-13 July) sums up the rulebook of the CPI-M euphemistically called the Left. Their policy of kicks and kisses does not help the governance of the country. Sonia Gandhi is not less shrewd than the CPI-M. Her entente with the Left is a marriage of convenience. Sooner than later the Congress will come back on its own. With the BJP in tatters and the SP confined to Uttar Pradesh the possibility is not remote. Meanwhile, the Left will oppose the government's economic policies, relations with the USA, defence treaty, price rise et al. Strikes and bandhs will continue. Sitaram Yechuri and Brinda …
