Jul. 20--TAMPA -- They're not calling it a boycott, but a coalition of gay and civil rights groups say they will begin a campaign today to direct residents and tourists toward Hillsborough County businesses that have a written policy barring discrimination against gays.
The companies deemed by the coalition to have antidiscrimination policies in place will be listed on a Web site. It escalates the battle over a vote last month by the Hillsborough County Commission to abstain from acknowledging or participating in gay pride recognition or events.
