MORE needs to be done to "plug the gap" in teacher training facilities, an education manager has warned.
David Anderson, recruitment strategy manager in Peterborough City Council's education department, says there are dangerously few resources for training teachers in the city.
He claims Peterborough is the largest city in the UK not to have its own teacher training centre - while it is also struggling to recruit English, maths, IT and modern languages tutors.
His words come just as the latest crop of teaching talent was honoured with qualified teacher status at Homerton College, Cambridge, this week. …
