HONG KONG: They forced Disney to take shark's fin soup off the menu at their new US$3 billion Hong Kong theme park. Now campaigners are putting the pressure on the city's five-star hotels.

Green groups are hoping to build on the momentum of their success in forcing Disney to back down after Disney repeatedly insisted it would serve the prominent dish out of respect for "local culture." Disney was subjected to a global e-mail and letter-writing campaign, and in June backed down after hundreds of schoolchildren threatened to boycott the theme park upon its opening in September.
