The Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr Sunday Ehindero, will finally know his fate next week when the Federal Government is believed to have made up its mind to appoint a successor to the former IGP, Mr. Tafa Balogun, who was forced into retirement last January 17.

Ehindero, a Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) in charge of 'A' Department (Administration), who represented the South West geopolitical Zone in the Balogun's management Committee, was appointed acting IGP on the retirement of Balogun now standing trial over alleged corrupt enrichment and money laundring. Since then, Ehindero has acted in that capacity for six months without his appointment, being confirmed or a substantive appointment, being made into the office to replace the former IGP. …
