TALAHASSEE, Fla. _ Florida A&M football players haven't had much say about the program's direction the past three years, but that may have changed with the selection of Rubin Carter as the school's 14th head football coach.
FAMU interim athletic director E. Newton Jackson confirmed Tuesday afternoon that the school has extended an offer to Carter, who resigned Monday as the defensive-line coach at the University of Temple, a Division I-A program.
"We're very excited about Coach Carter," senior quarterback Josh Driscoll said. "He was one of the two guys everybody wanted. We were very impressed with the way he presented himself to us during his interview."
